On the Subject of Painting
From a young age and into college, painting was my medium of choice. Even though I have fully embraced drawing, painting will once in a while surface. My work in college with painting progressed from oil paints to oil sticks, which naturally graduated to pencil. Oil sticks are a large stick of oil paint that require the mixing of paint on the canvas opposed to a palette. With oil sticks effects are immediate and there is little detail in the painting itself. My paintings are similar to my drawings in their expression and line quality. The paintings you will see are composed in series.
